The First Trust Equity Edge Index ("The Index") seeks to provide exposure to U.S. stocks exhibiting a blend of dividend growth and low volatility characteristics. The Index combines the investment approach of the Value Line® Dividend Index (VLFVD) and the Nasdaq U.S. Rising Dividend Achievers Index (NQDVRIS) in equal-weights. The Value Line® Dividend Index screens for companies that have a Value Line® Safety Ranking ® of #1 or #2 (on a scale of 1-5) based on their financial strength. These companies tend to exhibit lower volatility through a full market cycle. The Nasdaq U.S. Rising Dividend Achievers Index screens for companies with a history of stable or increasing dividends and strong earnings per share (EPS) with the potential to continue to do so in the future. The Index includes a performance adjustment rate of 0.55% per annum.
